The Pacific Islander Student Alliance Conference (PISACON) is an annual gathering of Indigenous Pacific Islander students, staff, faculty and community leaders. Since 2010 inaugural conference at Portland Community College, PISACON has been a staple of support for our Oceania Community in higher education.
Our conference is student led and founded. Over the last 10 years we have hosted our gathering eight times, hosting near 100+ students from over 18 different colleges & universities throughout Oregon and Washington. We are excited to announce that in the next two years California and Hawaii will soon be joining our conference.
This year we are excited to announce our partnership with The Pacific Climate Warriors and 350 Pacific and the formation of our PISA Student Council, which will be our governing body moving forward. PISA Council will provide leadership opportunities with PCW and our pro-staff team in the regions. This past year we have been able to send our students to Fiji, Australia and Puerto Rico for Climate Justice Training and Leadership Development.
