About Us
PISA Oregon started in 2007; formed out of Portland State University when student leaders looked to improve relationships and representation between Pacific Islander Student Groups in the region.
About Us
-
PISA is a critical, welcoming and engaging experience for Pacific Islander students navigating higher education.
Through leadership programs, campus organizing and community advocacy; we connect our communities to ensure Pacific Islanders have the means to a successful navigation of their collegiate experience. PISA is student founded and centered; all are welcome.
-
Our goal is to support Pacific Islander college students and communities to build an experience that reflects our values, history and cultures.
We hope to expand our programs to reach as many colleges and universities as possible. With the hopes to include incoming students in their final years in high school.
-
PISA is currently volunteered based with oversight coming from professional staff & faculty members from various schools. In the near future, we look forward to having paid coordinators for the conference and organization.
We are fiscally sponsored by the Samoa Pacific Development Corporation (SPDC) and receive funding from various Cultural Based Organizations (CBO) in the states of Washington, Oregon and California. As well as sponsorships from participating colleges and university. -
